I love music.

I love the internet.

I love free stuff.

I love listening to high quality music based on my taste of music that is free.

This is ten times better than launch (except that there are no videos).

Pandora is an amazing new site where you can listen to "stations" based on a certain song or artist. It's pretty incredible. I have had some fun creating certain stations like: Bohemian Rapshody, Ode to Chin, Derek Webb, Postal Service, and Louis Armstrong, just to name a few.

So...check it out. I'm pretty satisfied with it.

South Carolina: The Future Christian Utopia?

OK...I can sort of see where this guy is coming from (sort of)

But really, expecting thousands of professing Christian to move to South Carolina in order to "tip the scales" on political issues in that state?

First of all, a Christian's primary job is not to change politics. Now, don't misunderstand me, I don't have a problem with Christians involved in politics (I certainly have my own political views). I just don't think that abandoning the entire rest of the United States for political change would be good for the rest of the country in need of a Savior. We are told to:

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in^[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matt. 28:19-20 (NIV)

Did you see "Move to the place that you will most likely be effective in causing political change?"

My second problem with this is the strategy. So you would have an ultra conservative state. With the representation that goes a long with this state. Conservative Christians would lose voices and votes where they used to live.

Pretty much, this whole argument is messed up.

(I know I probably shouldn't be worried about this, but I get really annoyed when people do ridiculous things in the name of Christ).

Derek Webb is coming out with a new album on December 26th

It apparently touches on some touchy issues (war, for example). I am interested to see if fans lose interest and if he is shunned from the "Christian music world" (whatever that is).

Personally, I think it will be very interesting to see what comes of this album. I will probably buy it regardless of if I disagree with something on it. This man is an incredible singer/songwriter.

Greenwood just released their new album: the Hope Dialect.

You should go to their site Greenwoodrock.com and buy the cd for the low price of $10.

The cd release party was amazing.

These guys are really getting better and are moving their way up in the world, all the while keeping things in perspective and their Savior as the reason and drive for it all.

How can one justify downloading music illegally just because the record companies charge too much for their music? Music is many many things, but not a right. And CD's are certainly not a right; they are a luxury, in fact.

Why do people think they deserve free music?
Free music that costs money to make, I might add.

And, if there is anything worse that gets my goat, it's Christians who agree with this point of view. I really shouldn't even worry too much about the lost illegally downloading (I can explain all of that later).

How can a Christians justify illegal stealing as a means for punishing another wrong? Exodus 20:15 should be enough reason to not do it:
"You shall not steal." (NIV)

There is an obvious problem in blowing up abortion clinics, even though I disagree with abortion; why is there a problem here?

So...If you are a Christian, stop illegally downloading music (or movies or software).

If you are not a Christian, I want to let you know how Christ can change your life for the better; so email me.

Hey, it's my first technology post!

Apple just released their new Widget Television VF1 Dashboard for OSX.

Now, I am not a mac person, at all. But I am very jelous about this. Downloadable internet shows, like Diggnation, Systm, and TWIT, have been increasing in popularity lately. These have been labeled "IP TV." I want to have tv on the computer, over the internet. Forget tv tuner cards. Those are cool, but don't offer the vareity of options that are opening with internet television. (by the way, I am a little dissapointed that I cannot view these shows on my college's campus. They have to be downloaded throught bitorrent, which is blocked).

I remember hearing a prediction that TV and computer will come together one day. I think I was about 12 when I heard this. My mind went crazy with ideas of what it might be like one day. I knew, right then, that I wanted to get this when it came out. Too bad the mac people had to come up with it first. NO FAIR!

Only one danger with this: No limit on content (yet anyway). One could just put whatever they wanted on tv. That would be no good.

Anyway...comment if you care (about TV and the Internet...not about me).

Oh well...

Silly Spell Check and Love

I was going to post on how love is the basis for most worldviews; and how God is love. So, not that all worldviews point to God, but that God is there regardless. (yeah, it sounds stupid in two sentences).

I did post it, but I stupidly spell checked it. Pop-up blocker came on, and I lost the whole thing.

So basically, in the words of the Beatles:
"All you need is love."

...which is not true...unless by love you mean Love (God).
